Meet Our Principals

Jon Runquist II, President
Jon Runquist’s commitment to quality construction runs in his blood. He’s the fourth generation in his family to pursue a career in the construction industry. Jon received his degree in Construction Management from Michigan State University and has a range of experience managing industrial, commercial, retail and multi-unit residential projects. At Sonoma Construction, Jon is personally involved in each and every project, starting with the initial executive management overview of all project costs, construction methods and financial controls. He and his staff work together to hand select a team of subcontractors that will best meet a project’s individual needs. Once a project has begun, Jon will follow it every step of the way, delivering regular cost reports and updates until all deadlines are met to the client’s satisfaction.

Mark Howe, Vice President
Our Vice President, Mark Howe, developed his own affinity for detail and quality workmanship in his more than 25 years of experience as a union carpenter, foreman and field superintendent. Mark oversees the subcontractors for our projects to make sure that their work meets the highest standards and that they always deliver the best, on-schedule results. Unlike the supervisors at many other general contractors who are working foremen, Mark concentrates exclusively on project management and quality control. He communicates with clients regularly, providing weekly project updates on schedules, materials and deadlines. Mark has successfully completed over 4 million square feet of tenant work in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

Antony J. DeSanti, Vice President, Director of Project Management
As the Vice President, Director of Project Management, Tony DeSanti is fully commmitted to delivering projects that far excede our client’s expectations. Tony earned a degree in Construction Management from Illinois’ Bradley University and has experienced a full breadth of projects over his 15 years in project management including commercial interior construction, hospitality, retail and healthcare. Working in unison with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants, Tony is involved in projects from preliminary building selection, test fit budgeting and schematic design through permitting, bidding, and occupancy. As Director, it is Tony’s responsibility that every project is managed consistently and within Sonoma Construction’s high standards. Guiding and assisting the project management staff together with Sonoma’s field staff, Tony ensures throughout the project that budgets are managed, project schedules are maintained, and our quality standards of fit and finish are upheld.
